Well, I put 2 CnC maps in the rotation to see how they did before we put a whole server up for it. There's 2 main problems I've found so far. The first is that not many people know how to play it. I was playing one round last night. About 20 minutes into the round, my squad, (Yes my squad was the dedicated build squad so everyone else could dig in and scout.) had put up 4 firebases. The other team did not get their first Firebase up untill they had bled out to under 100 tickets, about 24 minutes into the round. The second problem is that alot of the people who play project reality are still too attached to vanila how much they claim to hate it. They do not have the patince for a 3 hour round. (Thats about the average time it takes to Finish a CnC round on most maps.) Therefore even tho it is the best game mode, it will never stay full due to that. Sorry guys, PR just isn't popular enough.

On a related note tho, I have been trying some cool stuff with the rotation that I know works, I'm just trying to see if it will work with our players.

My concern is not that C&C is too hard for new people, people can learn & I am starting to like it. My concern is that with the map we have picked, it might be too hard for people who are just learning. kozelsk(if I have the right name) is a hard map to find people on & Kashan would add more vehicles, apcs, tanks for both teams + air support which could be planes or choppers. most of all there is a better view range with all the open space allowing areas to be check much faster. Although it might not be the best way to go it might help more new people learn to love C&C & keep the search and destroy going for those that dont so our server stays full.

I love seeing talk about whats good/bad about our rotation so here is our current maplist, with my impression of how big the map feels when playing it + map notes

Come on gib's tell us how it can get better!
Muttrah -big map + priming map lots of players love this map
Jabal -big map + 4 apc's per team, no attack choppers
Qwai -big map + 1 small attack bird per team, Tow humvee US tanks for China
Sunset -small map + 2 Fav's China & 2 Humvee for US
kashan size 32 -big map + No jets on this version, 2 attack choppers per team
op barracuda -big map + 2 attack huey for US & 3 or 4 FAV for China
kozelsk -big map + Tanks & 4 apc's for russia, Chechens have 2 tow & bdrms
ejod -medium map + 1 tank & apc's mec, 1 tow & strikers US
fools_road -big map + 2 tanks & bdrm chechen, 2 tow & apcs russia
muttrah_city_2 -big map + you all know the assets here
operation ghost train -small map + 2 fav china & 2 jeeps brits
road to kyongan'ni -small map + boats & logi for each team 1 objective, small and fast
op barracuda -big map + 2 attack huey for US & 3 or 4 FAV for China
tad sae -small map + boats & logi for each team
assault on mestia -medium map + technicals for chechen & bdrm for russia
bi ming -small map + boats for each team, fav china & jeep for brits
asad khal -medium map + jeep for brits & bdrm for mec

Please think of the assets that average players can use correctly when suggesting a new maplist, we dont want one team to always have the advantage. Tanks are easy to use & more people know how to use them correctly, than the tow humvee, I see a number of squads use tow humvee as transport & then ditch it for a helo or boat ride. Also a striker is great for infantry support in city, the gun is high up and can aim down further than mec apc, but a striker cannot hurt any armor.

can we please change the map list. as it currently is we have a whole bunch of inf maps in a row and it gets tiresome fast. Also, a few maps should not be on there at all. Ghost Train, Kozelsk, and Fools Road are all real pop killers. Plus ghost train has crashed the server twice in the passed week that i have been on. I also say we add battle for qinling to the list. Its too large, yes, but we need more flying/armor maps.

Qinling crashes the server. However, I concur, putting in a rotation thats balance from ground pounding to air maps.

PR needs more maps... are there really only 2 maps with planes? Quingling is the only map where cb choppers can be used as they are supposed to be. They really need to have an armor map like they have in PoE. It would be so much fun if you had 6 tanks vs 6 tanks with AT support.

The problem with the rotation is that we have consecutive infantry maps.

There's a reason that we are seeing a drop off in players when we have map changes on our rotation, and there's a reason that our skirmish server isn't populated.

Just my pieces on the puzzle...
