Your PSU shouldn't make your whole house's power go down, maybe one circuit breaker or fuse. Sounds like you need to get an electrician out SOON.

you need to check what the amp amount is in the plug in you put your comp in if you can find out what breaker that plug in is connected to. Make sure it can handle the PSU other wise it will shut down that breaker and maybe the whole house. Breaker shuts down when it is overloaded....I would get that checked soon or move to another part of your house where a breaker can support the computer.

oh, my old PSU was short circuiting. that's why it caused my house's breaker to go out. it was an off-brand (Logisys) PSU so it didn't have a warranty or apparently the technology to handle short circuiting. anyway, i'm back up now. time to start back-stabbin' u all again

Glad you got it fixed man! Im even HAPPIER you didnt fry your computer! Consider yourself lucky! And get a surge protector on that bad boy!!!!
Also, if you wanna be even safer, get a GFCI outlet on the wall! (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) (Same thing thats normally in the bathroom with the little reset button and light on it.) |
